Joni Sheram was an actor/playwright and currently the Playwright in Residence at Bas Bleu Theatre in Fort Collins, Colorado. CUPS , Sheram’s most well known play originated as a short piece to complement a sculptor’s exhibit of breast pieces. When the artist went another direction Joni wrote the play. CUPS has been licensed by Theater League and will open at professional venues around the country in 2010.
CUPS traces the milestones in a woman’s life through the bras she’s worn. The one-woman show, written by Joni Sheram, captures a lifetime of remarkable events in this hilarious, often poignant memory play. From training to push-up, front-hooked and strapless to nursing and mastectomy, CUPS reminds us how these intimates hold our memories, too.
